This is my post for #freewrite Saturday prompt Broke by 
The fish house I sell to is in trouble, the ice machine broke, they think it is the compressor, and they do not have the money to get it fixed. They are broke. They owe several fishermen their checks. They owe me for 12 days fishing, I have not got a check in 3 weeks. My husband is convinced that they will not pay me. He sells to a different fish house. They have the place for sale and I am hoping that when it sells they will do the right thing and pay the fishermen.
If this fish house had the right management there is no reason it can not turn a good profit, but the way it is run it can not profit. There are four children that own a share in it and their Aunt owns half. Two of the children run the place and they do not want it to show a profit because they would have to give the Aunt some of the money. They more than double the price they pay the fishermen. They do not even put crabs on the board because they sell out as fast as they get them in. Most crabbers quit bringing them to them because they did not get paid.
I wish I had the money to buy this place, the way our town is growing if someone had the money to fix it up and put nice display cases in, there is no telling how well it would do. There is another seafood market a couple of miles down the road and it is packed every day. They only carry high priced fish. This is what my fish house looks like inside.
