I do not know what I would do if something was to happen to my husband. These last few days with him being in the hospital have been very lonely and I think I would sell our little piece of paradise, I do not want to be here without him.

When I got to the hospital this morning, I found him in a much better mood than yesterday. No pain at all. It really hurts my soul to see him in pain. I know that I have complained and even ranted on about him but I love the old fart. We have been together for more than 35 years and I know that I love him more today than the day we were married.

Anyway, at the hospital today they turned the pump off that was keeping his stomach contents pumped out. They left it off for 4 hours and when they plugged it back in, nothing pumped out. This showed them that the stomach contents were not staying there. The blockage was fixed.

They took the dreaded tube that went into his nose and down to his stomach out and said they wanted him to order food from the cafeteria. He ordered mashed potatoes and a bowl of chicken noodle soup. He ate the mashed potatoes and only a few bites of the soup, he said it was too rich. The nurse said she wanted to know how he felt after 2 hours.

It was about to get dark so I had to leave before the 2 hours were up. He called me and said they were releasing him but he called our daughter and she will bring him home.

A half an hour later all my hopes had fallen. He calls and says he had diarrhea and they were not letting him come home. An hour later he calls and now they are letting him come home. He is not here yet, so I hope he got out of there before they changed their minds again.
