Last week my husband told me that Publix has turkeys on sale for .49 cents a pound and he wanted to buy two of them. I thought that was a good plan, we would have one for Thanksgiving and one for Christmas.
He bought 2 14 pound birds. and started thawing them in water. I told him if he left one of them in the refrigerator that one would thaw by Thanksgiving.
He says he wants to cook them Monday, which is today. I said something back in a muffled voice. We will not repeat it. I mean who in their right mind cooks not one but two turkeys 3 days before Thanksgiving? My husband wants it done, that is who. He did not cook them, but I had to.
I have to say they came out looking so good but I can not show you how good they looked. I took a picture but it is not on my phone. So I had to take a picture of the packages, it is not as pretty.
This is my husband's reasoning, he says he wanted to buy the turkeys while they were cheap. "We" could cook them and put the meat in bags big enough for meals and we can freeze the packages to have for our dinners.
Our garden is doing good, this was 10 days ago.
