Nate has battled with his weight his entire life. Mom took him to several Nutritionists and Pediatricians looking for a cure for a kid who loved PB & Js and Diet Coke. I can recall countless times that he would come home from the bus stop upset because one, or more, of the kids were mean to him that day. He never let it keep him down for long. Always a resilient kid, he bounced right back from most skirmishes and bruised feelings. He was who he was. He still is. He's just smaller.

It wasn't until after other educators where Nate is a counselor started the Freeman's Biggest Loser contest — and several failed attempts to get him to join — that Nate began his journey. He started out with food. He changed what he ate. Then he joined a gym.

Actually, Nate sat down and shared his story with us. You can hear it from him.

We are all incredibly proud of and inspired by Nate's commitment to himself. He didn't just lose 200 pounds in a year and then stop. He still goes to the gym 6 days a week — even when he's home for Christmas.

This video originally appeared on our YouTube Channel earlier this year. We hope to use more of DTube in the future. Thanks for watching and have an awesome day!!!
