As the clock struck twelve,
So, did the nightmare appear.
My sheets were damp with sweat,
It was so vivid, so clear!
I was lost in its throes...
I dreamt I was denied paradise,
I was lost in shouts and wails and woes,
"My Lord take me back", I called out in my cries.
...........................................................
I was lost in the pictures in my head,
I dreamt I had lost my ability to scribe,
I was terror-stricken and frozen on my bed,
The fear went beyond what I can describe.
Saved by 'Momma mia'; she came calling for Solah,
She found me- like that damp, body askew.
She shook me awake; put the picture back in order...
And said, "be calm, it was only a nightmare".
