Indeed there's no place like home. I was inspired to write on this topic because of the experiences I've had overtime.
I've gone to so many places outside home and always wished to return back home quick.
In every home, they are different principles and standards.
When outside your home, you need to follow the principles and standards of that particular home which sometimes you might not be comfortable with.
At home you are free to do certain things which you can't do outside the home.
At home, I might choose to eat any food of my choice but outside my home, i need to eat what that family is eating even though I don't want to or feel like eating such. Sometimes some of this homes, have their specific meal timetable which is compulsory to follow.
I had an experience when I travelled to stay with my aunt in Port- Harcourt. She had a meal timetable which she followed daily. On a tuesday morning, which happens to be a day she usually cook porridge Beans, after she finished preparing the the beans, she told me to come pick my own food, I told her that I don't usually eat porridge beans that I will make noodles or make tea as I usually do in my home when my mum cooks porridge beans. She insisted that I was going to follow the timetable or I rather stay hungry. To avoid staying hungry, I had to force myself to eat the porridge beans which I wasn't comfortable with. I've had so many other experiences on this same issue which makes me love my home.
At home, I do have my specific time for doing some of my favorite activities like reading, playing of games e.t.c but outside my home, I might not still follow that time table and I also might end up not doing my favorite activities.
Some homes are usually so strict and disciplined which makes me feel uncomfortable and not free to express myself.
I would still say that there's no special place like home.
Thanks for reading..
