INTRODUCTION
Splinterlands is one of the blockchains in my portfolio. I have invested in both cards and Splintershards ($SPS). My goal with the Splinterlands cards was to create a deck that could compete in the champion league. With the SPS, my target was to stake a minimum of 50,000 SPS. I obtained this SPS from an airdrop for holding DEC and having collection power, as well as from buying on the market, particularly on Hive Engine. In this text, I will share my insights on whether investing in this game is worth it, as well as what happened to my account and the good news for Splinterlands in the month of March 2023.
MY STRATEGY
Prior to my journey with cryptocurrency, I have been trading stocks, which gave me some background on technical and fundamental analysis. Gaming has also been a significant part of my life, having played games like Half-Life, Counter Strike, Red Alert, Diablo, DOTA, and many more. While there are many blockchain-related games out there, Splinterlands caught my attention. Drawing from my background, I decided to create a strategy that aligns with my interests and hobbies. My goal is to develop a strategy that covers both short and long-term perspectives. I see investing in Splinterlands cards as a long-term approach since, as a gamer, excelling in this area is important to me. Additionally, we have to consider that there is a plan for staked SPS to replace collection power. The 50,000 SPS that I currently hold is my minimum baseline, and I plan to increase this by playing and holding assets from Splinterlands. Holding or staking SPS will give you some SPS depending on the total staked SPS, the percent APR will be depended on this. I plan to accumulate this reward SPS and sell it when my target based on the SPS technical chat will be hit.
Current Value of cards
The majority of my max cards are from the Chaos and Riftwatcher editions. As the soulbound reward system is a new feature, I believe that most players are taking their time to build up these cards to their maximum level.
Staked SPS
My current staked SPS has reached 54,825 SPS. Based on my staking reward of 24.783 SPS per day, and considering season 106, the accumulated SPS from staking rewards totals 392 SPS.
SPS chart
At what price do you plan to sell your SPS? I have a plan, but it's a secret.
Promo card Vruz
I believe that every quarter, there will be a promo card, and VRUZ is the first for 2023. In my opinion, this will be very useful, so I added some funds to maximize the benefits of this card.
Splinterlands updates and plans
What I like about this game is the active developer. Almost every town hall meeting, we have new updates and plans to make the game more interesting. What is cool is that if there is a proposal, the approval will be based on votes using your staked SPS. There have been many updates this month of March 2023, I can give few of them but I will be putting the link below for all the updates. First, the Energy Capture Rate (ECR) was replaced with a 50-point basis. One point is equivalent to one battle, and every battle reduces one point, which can be recharged after one hour. To recharge, you can buy these points, and the cost is based on your tier. If you do not want to buy them, you can wait to recharge by not battling. Secondly, there is a new rule that adds one Gladiator card to each battle. Lastly, there have been some partnership announcements. I have provided the link below for the two past town hall meetings for all the updates.
