Drinking three or four cups of tea per day was as good as drinking plain water. Even by drinking tea, you will benefit extra health. The opinion of a team of community nutritionists led by Dr Carrie Ruxton of Kings College London, England, is published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
The team also dismissed the notion during this time that tea can cause dehydration or lack of fluids. In fact, tea also provides fluid intake in the body (rehydration) as well as water, even tea is able to prevent heart disease and some cancers. The reason, tea contains flavonoids that are believed to improve health. These substances include polyphenol antioxidants commonly found in a number of foods and plants, and are believed to help prevent cell damage.
