In my last post I talked about the hike @donvee and I did at Diamond Head on our first day on Oahu. Since we were feeling pretty good about getting out and being active first thing in the morning, we decided that we deserved some Dole Whip and headed north to the Dole Pineapple Plantation.
I've had Dole Whip at Disney World, but it's so much better surrounded by a gift shop full of everything pineapple-related. Don't worry, we shared.
After getting our fill of delicious pineapple goodness we purchased a combination ticket that included the pineapple maze and the Pineapple Express, a quick train ride around the property.
We passed some pineapples, bromeliads, banana trees, and some equipment staged for the visitors. It was cheesy fun.
They also have a garden tour which you can add into the price of your ticket, but since there are much better ones on the island we decided to skip it.
I've always joked about owning a giant fiberglass fruit to sell ice cream or something out of. This pineapple was perfect. It reminded me of the Bluth's Original Frozen Banana stand from Arrested Development.
