We bought a simple coffeemaker from the CBTL (Coffee Bean & Tea leaf) store a few years ago. This machine uses coffee capsules instead of grounded or whole coffee beans. The coffeemaker had a faulty mechanism and had to be sent back to the store for repairs.
Even after the coffeemaker was repaired, we occasionally encountered issues and finally just abandoned it and wasting a few boxes of unused capsules.
I just drink instant coffee but when there is a serious caffeine need, we would just drive to the nearby store for our Starbucks fix.
Recently, a birthday gave us an excuse to buy a bona fide Breville coffeemaker as a present. It was a good idea as it benefits all coffee drinkers in the house. Mind you, we had to go through the motions of reading the manual and trying out several times before we got the hang of it.
