A lot of talk and nothing really changes as usual.

It's pretty much the same thing every year.
Throw a few breadcrumbs to the masses and hope that they don't riot.
If there is an election on the horizon then throw them cake and watch them eat it all up.

All the while the value of money goes down.
Fuel goes up, electricity goes up, food goes up, the cost of living goes up and we struggle more and more every year.

This year is slightly geared towards the working people with higher tax thresholds, lower child care and a tax free investment scheme but overall we are still a lot worse off over the past twelve months and probably the next twelve months than we were a few years ago.

💶 Income tax: 40% tax band rises to €46,500; tax credits increase.

👵 Pensions & welfare: €10/week increase.

👶 Childcare: Maximum cost reduced to about €550/month.

🏠 First-time buyers: Help-to-Buy limit rises to €35,000.

🏡 Renters: Rent tax credit increased.

⛽ Fuel: Petrol/diesel tax cuts extended.

💼 Minimum wage: Rises to €14.94/hour.

🎓 Students: College contribution fee reduced by €150.

♿ Disability: New €500 cost-of-disability payment.

💰 Inheritance: Tax-free thresholds increased.

In reality and summarized in the simplest words possible that i've recently heard.

“The level of taxation is determined by the level of government spending.”

Our government spends way too much money on terrible ideas and this leads to us having less money in our own pockets. They are still paying so much money towards other nationalities, to other countries, subsidizing large multinational companies, inflated construction costs and vanity projects.

If they had the balls to sort out the problems in spending then we would all have an excess of money in our pockets. Every single department burns through money at a rate that would sicken CEO's world wide and wouldn't stand in any private company.

The budget will come and go every year but unless they address the root cause of inflation in the country we will never get to a better position where every person in the country has the chance of a good quality life on a regular salary.

Until then we will see the government keep spending billions without results and still lack services for every day life.

Then watch as the workers struggle month to month while the billionaires get richer and the welfare class get handed more and more for nothing.
