Okay...I am just going to say this and I will not worry about how it is taken.
During the #minnowuprising and #upvoteplankton initiatives, I read a lot of wonderful quality content. Information that was helpful, stories that were funny or intense, lots of life lessons, and some great videos and audios. I got a chance to meet some really good people, you know?
But then...there were some...
At first, I would read what was posted and think, “Oh, okay. These must be new people, or people not well versed in English. I’ll read and comment anyway.” But one afternoon when I had some extra time, I went back and clicked on their profile. I was amazed to learn that the ones that I thought were new had actually been here on Steemit longer than I have.
What?!?
Look, I totally get it. If I were asked to jump on here and share in Spanish or German or another language that I don’t know, I would write some of the shortest posts ever. BUT...over the course of a year (or more), I would get better and better daily and I’d be able to share more in that other language. So when you have been writing on Steemit for more than a year and your content does not show progress...my suggestion is to “write like you mean it”.
What is that?
It is to not just put some information online just to be doing it or just for the cash that you think you will earn. Your goal in sharing on Steemit should always be for helping to better someone else’s life, or to teach someone else about a topic, or to make others laugh or think.
