Why do we need to have correct grammar when the main point we wanted to say is understandable? Why do we need to make things complicated when there are ways that we can't? Why do we need to study for it when we can understand by just using what we used to? Are you like me or belong in this world to the people that think grammar just makes things harder?
When I first learned the correct grammar I was annoyed. The messages I wanted to deliver in my writings during my college days were criticized. Not because the details were not fully explained or not because the whole purpose of those writings was not clear. The grammar was wrong and not just one word but many words that I needed to rewrite. It's a bit of hassle and pain in my brain because of how much brainstorming I spent just to come up with those writings. Thanks to it, I needed to read it again where the mistakes were and this time corrected them. Yes, I was complaining because the time I spent was wasted and I would do it again.
This grammar thing is a bit annoying, especially that I'm not a native English speaker. I've had hard times translating what was on my mind into English because of course. Why would I think English right away when my native language is Visaya? It's funny but not that funny at all, just stating the fact here. It took so much time in translating the words already, specifically the words that I haven't encountered. I must look into a dictionary and check if it's the right translation. Again, another extra time to be spent because of searching or figuring out the translation.
I was ranting those days but when learning and learning about English. Yes, I thought of learning it since English words in our country are like a second language to us. Every subject uses the English language except for the Filipino subject. Okay, let's understand why Filipino should not be using English since it's our language origin. That's why learning the English language is essential especially when applying for a job. I had no choice but to learn the correct grammar because people could tell right away through it if you're good in English.
To tell you the truth, I only realized how important correct grammar is when I started writing on hive. I was not a fan of reading but when I committed myself to the hive I became one. Thanks to the hive I was awakened that just learning the English language without learning correct grammar was not enough. Even understanding the words in English was the same because of certain things the reader wouldn't understand.
If you want to say about what already happened using the present words. The readers will not understand that it happened in the past and not now. It's hard for them to define what you're trying to say by using the wrong grammar. Only you understand that it happened yesterday when you'll not use the past tense. Just to be clear, I'm not a teacher or an educator that knows enough about English grammar. This is just what I learned from reading and writing. If I have mistaken some words you can correct me and I'm happy to be corrected.

Without using the "day" like yesterday or today. The readers can easily tell when it happened or it happens. When I said "was", of course, it was yesterday, the other day or days had passed already. However, if I use "is", it's obvious that what I'm trying to tell is now or still happening now. Apologies but I will only use the easiest example because I'm afraid to be wrong when I'm telling what's the importance of correct grammar. lol
That's why if you're like me before who thought grammar was just a hassle. It's time for you to understand that you should use the correct grammar or else it will be hard for you to connect with your readers. Also, there's no way you can understand each other without using the correct grammar. It will end up with confusion because both of you can't elaborate well on what the words are trying to say. There's no end to learning after all and it's free if you're just willing to.
