“Hey, it’s time to go home.” It’s what I said to myself when a fiesta was coming to our town, my previous hometown. Yes, for someone like me who doesn’t live in the town of Macrohon anymore. The fiesta has become the reason for my visit, excluding the fact that I’ve been visiting home once in a month because of my mother and siblings. Life may have taken me somewhere because I created my own family, Macrohon, the town where I grew up has never forgotten in my heart and mind.

I may no longer live in this town anymore, I made sure not to miss its fiesta celebration in the month of September. The streets seem a little bit lonelier for me because this is not how it looked like it was in the past when I lived here. People whom I recognized easily and the people who recognized me right away. Neighbors who were and some who were not anymore. Not the construction or establishments that gave me a sad feeling. It’s the fact that the places are no longer the same as they used to be.

That’s why there were those times when I asked myself when fiesta was coming. “Does the fiesta celebration make me happy or just the people over there?” Even so, I still decided to come home to every fiesta celebration because of both the celebration and the people. The people who went home during this celebration as well where we shared laughter, stories from the past and the air we shared where conversations flowed like water.

Yes, I know that no matter how far life takes me, this town always has a place in my heart. To make sure I got to enjoy the feeling of the fiesta celebration. I took a walk in the center of the town itself where different colors can be found. In the church, there's always a mass on the day of celebration. In the park there were food stalls, a beer garden and beverages were there as well. It made the place crowded and livelier, obviously a lot of people gathered.

Maybe I don’t live here anymore. I don’t come here often even though I wanted to be here. But still I came, of course, how could I not go to a place when I know in this community I’m still part of. The feeling of excitement during fiesta just like my childhood days still resides in my heart.
