Sea urchins are creatures in the sea that can be eaten. They are unique based on their names, appearances, and characteristics. They are a lot too but what I can share now is only the three of them. Some of them are so hard to find and no matter how I searched for them I still couldn't find them. Though it will give you an idea that they can be eaten as long as you know how to find them and how to eat them. They have thorns in each of them, be aware of touching them because some stings even though they don't have poisons. For the beginners, it can be that painful I'm sure.

Sometimes low tide comes in the morning, noon, and afternoon. This time it was morning and it was nice to stroll while searching for sea creatures. Since I saw these children digging that type of sea urchin. It gave me an idea to post something that they're getting. This type of sea urchin is always the best choice for children. It's easy to get, it's harmless despite the thorns all over it, and at the same time, it's delicious.
Yes, this one I'm talking about, a sea urchin named from the Bisayan word "dapaw-dapaw." They can be found under the soft sand beneath the seawater. I will show a video later, make sure to watch it for you to understand how to find them and how to eat them. It's a small type of sea urchin but the flesh inside of it is very delicious. Even though most of them are delicious this one is quite different but I'm not saying this one is my favorite.
The easiest sea urchin that can be found along the sea is again in the Bisayan word named "bangas." Unlike the previous sea urchin, this one can be found above, either in the stones or everywhere. It's easiest to find but not all people love to eat. Maybe because of the taste of it, the texture of the flesh, and its shell is quite hard to open. Although don't get me wrong, there are still people who love to eat it. This is just my own opinion that it's not my type.
Not as delicious as the "dapaw-dapaw" but more preferable than eating "bangas." Some people love this one and again in the Bisayan word named "tujom or tuyom." Although not as delicious as "dapaw-dapaw" some people prefer eating this one. The flesh of this sea urchin is quite different. The flesh of it is different, it's not easy to scatter, sorry I don't know how to explain it well. It can be found everywhere just like "bangas" but be careful of its thorns. It stings and it can last for long. When we were children we used our urine to ease the sting. Actually, I don't know why the adults said that it's like an antidote. lol
