"Father, why was I born black?"
I asked my father with a louder voice while the tears slowly falling. I promised myself not to say those words to my father. I saw him most of the time hiding from the crowd because of the colour of his skin. I felt pity for my father but after experiencing intense bullying. I couldn't stop myself and I've done it. He nodded his head after what I said.
"I'm sorry son," he just said.
His words pierced my heart. I regretted what I said to him. I could tell how much pain I caused him. I know for sure he felt like I resented him.
"Raphael, that's enough."
My mother suddenly shouted after he heard my loud voice. My father is always kind so he pretended with a glimpse.
"It's fine Alexia," my father told my mother while his hand showed a stop sign.
"But--," before my mother could finish what she wanted to say. I ran towards my mother and hugged him.
"Sorry, Father."
I cried hard while he rubbed my head. I made sure that I let all my tears fall. I want to pour it all so there will be no reason for me to cry just because of the colour of my skin.
Years passed I kept my words and never let a single tear shed. The biggest challenge for me is studying in college where it's located in a big city. I'm afraid. I know a lot of white people will bully me for sure because I'm black. But I didn't think of letting go of my dreams.
"No, if I will be afraid now I will be afraid forever," I said to myself as I'm stepping inside the campus.
"Hey, you're tall and big. Join the basketball club."
It surprised me when two students suddenly approached me. They are not black. They are white and yet they asked me to join them. I'm so happy of course but.
"Sorry, I'm not good at playing basketball."
I told them the truth. I haven't tried playing basketball since I was born. We don't have a financially stable lifestyle. I need to help my parents in providing food and other things. Society is to blame. My father couldn't get a better job because of the colour of his skin.

Upon studying in college, even once I didn't experience bully. It's hard to believe but it's true. I know it seems odd but I don't know why is it. I have a peaceful life while studying. It's a good feeling since I used to be bullied. However, I thought it was fine to have a peaceful life while I've been seeing other students being bullied.
It was 5 in the afternoon and I'm walking to my part-time job. My heart is in deeper sorrow while remembering my past experiences. I remember it when I saw a man the same age as me being bullied in the corner of the street. I see a lot of people but no one of them stands up to help him. I passed them because I was afraid to be the one being bullied.
I took a couple of steps walking away from them before I realised.
"I need to do something from it," said to myself.
I couldn't bear watching that white guy crying. I feel pity and I see myself in him before but I'm not that brave to fight those bullies.
"POLICE!!" I shouted.
The bullies ran away after I shouted. I'm hiding in a trash can so they will not see me. I'm glad they didn't see me and they just left immediately.
"Are you alright?" I asked that white guy.
"Nope, I can't stand well because it looks like my legs are badly injured because of their kicks." He replied.
"Okay, let me help you then."
I carried him leaning at my back.
"Thank you, man." he suddenly said to me.
I feel sad for him, despite the colour of his skin he still experiences life like this. In this society, bullies are acting superior by bullying someone. It's hard to fight because most of them are powerful. They can't be stopped unless a powerful someone will stand up for the weak. No matter how you fight for it if you don't have the power to influence many people. The fighting will still be futile. It's not the colour of the skin that will decide who to blame. It's someone's personality who thinks they're the King in this world.
