Hello great people.
I was just having a thought of what I could share with you all that would make you laugh and something whispered to me. So, never mind, the topic is quite different from what I want to share. If you follow closely, I share comedy here only on Sundays. That's the day I like to reminisce on what life has dealt me and how I want to use such experiences to pass a message across, the essence of the topic, Sunday tablet.
Today, it would be about a bald lady. Yeah, you heard me right. We must have seen that only guys go bald and they are proud about it. The true is that there are bald ladies too but they cover it up with wigs hehehe. Just follow me, we would have to settle this, since and for all.
A newly wedded couple once visited my dad. He was made the chairman at their wedding reception and as a means of thanking for his presence among other things, they came to pay a visit. My dad, in his usual style, offered the couple a seat. The chairs in our living room then were single seats, so the wife had to sit on a separate chair from the husband.
You guys look great together.
He opined as the couple dished out their dentition, blushing. The wife looked shy as she bowed her head as my father spoke.
Thank you, sir.
Then a sudden silence. I was in the bedroom that was close to the living room, angry. The guests had prevented me from watching my favorite cartoon series, Pinky and the Brain. I had wished that the visit would come to an end almost immediately. I wasn't interested in whatever they came for. As the wife was trying to raise her head, the wig she was wearing pulled off.
The most unimaginable began.
Uncle Joe, the groom or should I say the husband left his mouth wide open. There wasn't a single hair on his wife's head. She was bald. I have seen bald guys though, it was my first time seeing a bald lady. From where I was seated, my ear lobes stood erect, wanting to know what would happen next.
Why is your hair shaved?
The husband asked his wife, Gloria.
Can we discuss this when we get home, please?
The lady begged. One can see beads of sweat on her forehead. She was becoming uneasy at the moment. I felt so sorry for the poor Gloria.
It can't wait, baby. Tell me what happened to your hair.
The couple have only been married for three weeks. They probably are still learning to live together.
Joe persisted. He needed answers as soon as possible but Gloria had become silent. But because Joe had been asking for an answer, Gloria had to speak.
My hair hasn't been growing but my doctor told me that as soon as I settle down and become comfortable and avoid stressing myself, it will begin to grow.
My dad just stayed there. Only heaven can tell what he has been thinking all the while.
And do you think I should not know? Why didn't you tell me?
Joe queried.
At this point, my dad waded into the situation.
So, this is one life lesson you will learn in marriage. You both will offend each other. No matter what, forgiveness should not be lacking in your home.
My dad interjected. He just made the point crystal clear. It sounded so easy. When my dad saw that Joe wasn't pleased, he continued
Worst cases occur in most marriages. This particular one is not as bad as it appears………
Gloria had pity written all over her face. She needed Joe to forgive her but he wanted Gloria to give her more explanation.
Before I knew what was happening, Gloria rose from her seat and began to remove something like a mask from her head. I caught my dad wondering what Aunty Gloria was up to.
By the time she was done pulling off the mask, she wasn't bald. It was just a test on her husband. Graciously, he didn't misbehave.
That trial for me wasn't needed. She apologized to her husband and my dad for pulling such a string. I learned a great lesson that day.
I hope this Sunday tablet is worth reading. See you guys next Sunday. Do have a productive week, y'all.
