Thank you #Hivelearners. This series is quite interesting. For my favorite comedian, I was left with a very tough decision to make because there are many comedians in my country, Nigeria. Many of them are already made why a teeming number of comedians are upcoming.
My favorite comedian is a very young boy who started his craft when he was just five (5) years old. He is naturally funny. His looks alone and the shape of his mouth can suddenly make you laugh with him necessarily having to talk.
He is none other than Kiriku. The lad is from Edo State Nigeria and he is currently nine (9) years old.
Kiriku is one of the top five richest kid comedians we have in Nigeria. His talent has lifted his family from the poverty line. When he turned eight years old, he bought a car for his parents. That's nice, right. I love this kid's comedy because of how he Shenks people.
Shenk is a slang in pidgin English which most comedians in Nigeria use to crack up their audience and it means to deny someone access to information or simply cut them off. So when someone 'shenks' you, they withhold information from you or disappoint you.
The first comedy skit I saw of Kiriku was one where he was just strolling in a street, probably heading home (a far distance) and a lady driving who was trying to locate a street in the neighborhood asked for directions, Kiriku simply asked the lady to pick him up so he could direct her.
Aunty, pass her. Turn right, turn right again and straight, then turn left……..
At the end of the day, Kiriku arrived at his parents residence and then asked the lady to drop him off. He walked into their compound and waved at the lady, leaving her stranded. He did play a smart one on the lady. Now, I see you smiling, or are you going to laugh it out?
iPhone six Saga
At another skit, his older brother left his iPhone six on a chair outside their house and went inside to pick something but before he came out, Kiriku has sold the phone to a passerby for #2,000 (two thousand naira). When his brother came out and started to look for his phone, Kiriku simply said that he had sold the phone.
He gave his brother a cut of one thousand naira (#1,000) from the amount he sold the phone. That was just off the hook. His brother could not believe his eyes. An iPhone for two thousand naira? Who does that? Only Kiriku does.
Sell Your Destiny
#Umbrellaboy and Kiriku on this. Kiriki asked the fellow (a comedy skit maker) to sell his destiny. At first, I was wondering what kind of jokes would be coming from that expensive talk. #Umbrellaboy just smile back at Kiriku and said:
I cannot sell my destiny. Destiny can be delayed but can never be denied.
It didn't just end there. Kiriku replied him
Your destiny isn't only delayed but already denied.
Now, that cracked a rib.
This young dude certainly knows how to crack one's rib. I hope to see him in the nearest future as one of Africa best comedy act.
