Maksim
Maksim is a photographer in NYC. I thought that the rawness and goofiness of this photo was hilarious and I wanted to recreate it. I searched for #portrait on Instagram to find this, only to see that while I was painting him I received a like from him. I wonder what the initial reaction will be like when he sees it.
I like that he looks like he is scrunching his face, and I think the photo is a selfie, so it feels a little spontaneous. I believe that my painting medium is spontaneous and the immediacy is what makes it special.
