SilverTowne Mint originally got it's start as an antique and coin shop, located in Winchester Indiana, and has grown to be one of the largest Private Mints in North America.
They have a wide range of designs, specializing in custom mints, and have become known for their high quality and affordable cost (Source).
The Eagle is the USA national bird, representing elegance and power, it is proudly displayed on the great seal of the United States, also appearing on passports, stamps, and coinage - and on this 1oz pure silver round from SilverTowne Mint.
The eagle side of the round features an eagle with its wings spread, coming down and towards the left for a landing. Thirteen stars appear along the top-half curve of the coin, representing the original thirteen colonies of USA.
The text "Made in America" appears just below the wing and to the left of the eagle. Along the bottom curve is the text "LIBERTY", just above that text is "1 OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER". Rays of sunshine also appear behind the eagle.
The reverse side features an outside border frame with an interesting scrolled design around the coin, with the text "ONE TROY OUNCE .999 PURE SILVER" along the top curve. Framed in, the center of the reverse side is blank with a matte finish. I wish it had been a mirror finish, it would have made an interesting mini mirror with a frame.
SilverTowne keeps cranking out the interestingly designed, finely minted, and decently priced rounds. This pair of Liberty Eagles is another fine addition to the stack.
