As we all know it's important to stretch our dollar as much as we can. Here are a few things I use to either save money or get money back for things I do.
The others sites below I get a small kickback on (so I truly appreciate you joining using my link) but for this one I don't get anything. I simply love the site because it has easily saved me hundreds of dollars. They offer gift cards to a wide variety of stores/sites at a discount. It might only be 1% but it could be a lot more; either way you save. Some gift cards are physical where they're mailed to you but others they email to you so you can use with your phone or print out. The first time you order, give them a few days to process. It's a small business and they want to make sure you're not a bot before moving forward. After that it's quick - you may even be able to be at the store while getting the giftcard. Their search feature is basic but immediately lets you know if the store you want is even an option on their site. ie if you enter LOW, LOWE'S should pop up (so you know they carry them...sometimes giftcards are out). However, if you wanted something and it doesn't pop up you know they don't carry them at all. If a card is out, check back frequently
Mr. Rebates
This site often provides a discount when buying through them PLUS you generally get money back afterward; which is the real reward for the site. I simply give them my paypal info and the following month I get $ from them if I purchased anything. You can also get a check mailed to you if you prefer. A couple key tidbits:
*Once you're ready to buy DO NOT leave the window that opens to the site (and want the rebate). Don't check email, don't comparison shop at other sites, nothing. Do all that ahead of time. However, once I'm ready to buy I usually go back to Mr. Rebates, click on their link again for the site and use the fresh window. Otherwise, you may have to work with them for an after the fact rebate.
*To get your rebate you need to go to the site and click that you want it. They don't simply send it to you. Minor issue but good to remember.
Just like Mr. Rebates. I've only used it a couple times. Some people like it more.
Groupon
Sometimes I get suckered into buying something I wouldn't have otherwise but the price is so good I couldn't resist. However, if you're looking for something this is a great place to check out.
CoinBase
If you want to buy BTC or ETH, it's one of the top sites (or so this noob has heard). If you don't mind limits and waiting it's good for not requiring a ton of info about you. The waiting is huge to some people. If you go the cheap route and have them take the payment from your bank account, expect to wait a week (to the minute - LOL). If you want to speed things up and increase your limits, be careful! They require personal info. After a few transactions I got tired of the wait so I decided to give it a try.
*Make sure you check to see if CoinBase operates in your state/country before moving forward. I learned that the hard way! I recently moved and I didn't have my color, hard copy of the new state's driver's license, just the black and white paper printout. CB wants color so I used my old state's license and as soon as they verified it my account was suspended. Turns out, the state has a law CB has an issue with so they don't allow business for that state's residents. I can not log in or access anything. BTC and ETH orders I placed have come in but I can't transfer them to my wallet. CB does not have a number to call, it's all via email. It's been 1.5 weeks and the last response was they'll get back to me. There are other sites to buy from but this gives us both $10 once you spend $100 on CB. (Presuming they give it to me once everything's cleared up!)
One last tidbit is to use paypal 'multiorder shipping' to get a discount when mailing via USPS. I've used it for years and saved a lot of money in shipping and hours in time by not standing in line at the local PO.
Everyone's different and experiences vary but these are my experiences with the sites. Hopefully these help many of you.
