Well whilst I wait for mechanic number (lets say 14) I may aswell make a post! Well this mechanic thinks the problem with my car is the sparkplugs, so I wont be going back because the sparkplugs are new and the cables as well - which I told him.
I brought this car (dodge caravan) because I thought its a very common car in Mexico and woukd bebeasy yo fix. I presumed mechanics would know the car well, but what nobody told me is that mechanics here are total dogshit and you can learn mechanics yourself faster than finding a competent mechanic who isnt a lazy fuckhead.
Sadly it isnt, firstly because I am part mexican and secondly because its a fact.
Its november the 10th and if i told you that this car still hasnt been fixed since the problem started in June, you would think I had mental problems or was dilerious. Well sadly its true, and I see no end in sight to find a mechanic who is able to fix this car. I wouldnt mind if they would accept the job and say they couldnt fix it but they dont even want the work.
So then they can be lazy and get free money. Winner right?!
As an example from earlier today, i have electric probs which nobody wants to fix or even check. The fan stays on and it drained my battery. I was parked at a taxi rank and asked a guy if he would charge my battery with his car just for 1 minute.
He said "50 peso" and I told him I only had 30 at the time. Anyways he refused the 30peso for a 1 minute job, and parked infront of me in the taxi que. He sat there for ages until his next customer came, and all that time was a one minute job 2m behind him.
Its now 12.25pm. The mechanic from yesterday never replied with a price so last night I started to watch tutorials on pootube on the possible causes. My guess is the piston rings are gone, there are leaks in the exhaust and elecrical issues. I am booked in for 3pm with an exhaust specialist to see what needs reapairing there. Park up, covervthe car to stop the heat from the sun and wait. Atleast here i know that i will walk away feeling like i just had work done on the car.
I kind of get the feeling the transmission wasnt installed properly too.
Days just fly by and sundays come quicker than a virgin boy, and it seems there are no mechanics around who want the work. Trying to leave this town has become way way way beyond funny
Cant be fucked to put any photos in here to be honest. I just want to document the experience of owning an old car in Mexico
