In 1930, Tommy was driving my taxi late at night when he suddenly ran into Paulie and Sam. They were fleeing from a gang chase. At gunpoint, Sam forced Tommy to drive. I sped across the Giuliano Bridge, rammed through obstacles, and successfully lost the pursuing goons.
The first mission started with an offer you cannot refuse, set back in 1930. It was a dark night, and Tommy was standing right beside his taxi. He mentioned that he mostly preferred driving during the night because the money was much better.
That was when he first met Paulie and Sam on one fateful evening. While Tommy was busy checking on his car, a group of people appeared, involved in a intense chase with other vehicles.
The scene felt like absolute cinema. Paulie and Sam had just met with an accident nearby and came straight toward Tommy's taxi. Sam pulled out his gun, pointed it directly at Tommy, and ordered him to move the car immediately.
Paulie jumped in and sat right beside Tommy. From that moment, I had to take control and drive the taxi as fast as I could to escape the area.
There was one car following close behind us right from the start. I drove through a wreckage, which helped us lose that initial pursuing car. Our main objective was to get across the river by heading toward the Giuliano Bridge.
Driving the car in this game felt amazing, and I never thought the handling would be this smooth in such an old title. The remake definitely did a great job with the driving mechanics.
When we reached the bridge, Paulie kept talking about the river ahead. Tommy asked where he should take them, and Sam mentioned that he was tired of all the questions. He told me to just keep driving, so I pressed on without any issue.
Suddenly, more hostiles appeared and blocked the bridge ahead. I had to ram right through their vehicles to break through. I needed to shake them off somehow, so I checked the map and spotted a few obstacles along the road that could help lose our trail.
The goons were still right on us, and my vehicle was taking damage. I found a ramp to drive over, hitting it hard enough to leave some of the pursuers behind in the dirt.
Even though we cleared them, another car appeared right behind us. Fortunately, I spotted one last set of obstacles up ahead, maneuvered through them, and finally lost the remaining pursuers for good.
To be continued.
