Today started on a relatively cool note but culminated into a slightly stressful day. I began with cooking and cleaning the house with the help of the girls and then we settled down to their revision. Their continuous assessment tests start on Monday and they are scheduled to take 6 to 5 tests daily for 3 days. I feel that's way too much pressure for young students and I raised it via the PTA but the school administration wouldn't change the time table. We'll give it our best shot anyway.

As for the stressful part of the day, Barbie had a minor kitchen accident this evening. She was frying eggs and erroneously pushed the frying pan off the cooker. Her right leg got splattered with hot cooking oil and raised such a hue and cry about it. I could imagine her pain, having experienced a similar incident before and would gladly have taken on the pain for her if I could. I kept a tight rein on my fear and gave her first aid by applying raw Shea butter to the burns. Shea butter is soothing, hastens the skin's healing process and repairs damaged skin. She was later given pain killers by the doctor and is currently sleeping soundly, thank God.

Thanks and cheers for reading!
