I remember that during my childhood, I always had fun with my friends in a period of time when digital games were just being born.
We either played group games such as monopoly with our friends or we went on bike riding, exploring our neighbors and having fights with the other children in the neighborhood.
As you can see, our group games and bike riding adventures during our childhood taught us important social skills.
In fact, I was the leader of our group during my childhood and it helped me a great deal in my professional life, managing and treating my employees the way I want to be treated.
Playing is not only a way to spend free time; rather, it is the central aspect of childhood and the source of knowledge and learning. Various games that involve group participation, require players to solve problems, follow specific rules, and explore things develop thinking, planning, and problem-solving skills and help understand how to deal with challenges that arise in everyday life. They allow you to navigate the difficulties of social interactions and adapt to life successfully.
In addition, play creates opportunities for children to experience and manage a wide range of emotions. You learn to accept both victory and defeat, work with colleagues, handle disagreements and conflicts, express empathy for other people, and respect their feelings and decisions. Furthermore, through play, children develop the ability to adapt to various situations and perform the necessary actions to achieve a common goal, regardless of whether they are in a leadership position or take on the role of an ordinary group member. The ability to withstand disappointments, such as losing, is critical and prepares the ground for overcoming obstacles in the future.
Finally, such games lay the groundwork for effective communication and socialization and, therefore, contribute to succeeding in the adult world, managing relationships, and understanding the complexities of social interactions.
