While walking around the Grand Bazaar in Tehran, I found this bicycle, a heavy retractable security gate, and a floor mop just by the entrance. It caught my eye straight away.
There is something oddly fascinating about the image, the emptiness of the shop behind the heavy iron gate with signs of desolation and abandonment surrounds it, making this a somewhat sad and lonely image.
The place is not abandoned for any specific reason, except maybe that it was never frequented by people or that its long-awaited customers have come only once.
The place is part of the world-famous Grand Bazaar in Tehran - a 10 km network of ancient alleys and streets full of shops. There are places like this because the bazaar is one of the oldest markets in the world.
