I was wait in the car for my friend who went to buy water and food for our trip. We were decided to spend the night in the road somewhere because it was a good location for camping. While I was waiting for him, suddenly I saw this man walking to us from a distance. He was so skillful and charming. When he came from my side, he didn't see me in the car. I thought it was a great opportunity to take his portrait, so I took my camera and shot it while he was passing.
The man was wearing typical Kurdish clothes, which represent one of the most influential cultures in history. Kurdish clothing is usually consisted of long-sleeved shirts, vests, and pants with a specific belt called "peshtewan". This outfit is considered one of the most comfortable and representative costumes in the world, which has been worn by many men living in Kurdish regions for decades.
When you take photos, you never know what will happen next. Sometimes it is essential to shoot the unexpected moments because those could be excellent shots for your portfolio. So, if you are a traveler and a photographer, be always prepared to take pictures of remarkable people and their unique stories.
The best moment of this photo for me is that it was an unpredictable and authentic moment, and capturing it was such a great experience for me. I had an amazing feeling when I saw the man in those traditional clothes. He looked so charming and authentic in his vest and peshtewan. It represents the whole history of the Kurdish people and their traditions.
