I celebrated Nyepi day or as known as the Day of Silence last month (Tuesday, March 28 2017). As quoted in my friend’s (Tarot reader & astrology enthusiast) blog,

“Nyepi is a day of self-reflection in Balinese Hindu tradition through several restrictions such as Amati Geni (no fire, light, or electricity), Amati Karya (no working), Amati Lelunganan (no traveling), and Amati Lelanguan (fasting and no self-entertainment). We are expected to think in retrospect in silence about who we are and evaluate our values, such as love, patience, and kindness. We connect with our Creator, with the Universe, and with ourselves through prayer, fasting, and meditation. But most importantly, we do it to be in touch with our core self – our spiritual self, without any distraction. “

On that day, the streets are empty, all stores are closed and even the airport. It was very peaceful. I wish we could do this more often, to reflect to one self.

Here is a glimpse of the sky that night.
