I reviewed this free to play multiplayer game in 2017 https://steemit.com/gaming/@moon32walker/game-review-warhammer-40000-eternal-crusade. I wasn't that impressed once it launched, it was fun for a while but there were no big updates, it seems the game went into a silent maintenance mode. Development team numbers went down drastically, from a team of 50 down to 5 developers. It is a sad state of affairs for once such a promising Warhammer 40.000 game. Dawn of War 3 failed, Eternal Crusade player numbers are dwindling every day, I don't know what keeps these Warhammer40k titles from gaining more popularity, dev mistakes, low budgets, disappointed player base, everything mixed together, who knows. There is however a glimmer of hope for Eternal Crusade, because the Emperor is great, or just WAAAGH (ork players will know).

There are still 4 different races you can play with and unlock different wargear and skills. There are several new maps and new wargear for every race. Every once in a while a campaign scenarios happen where you get a chance to earn some ingame currency that unlocks you better wargear and cosmetics, a chance for free to play players to catch up on the veteran players. These matches can still be pretty damn fun with 60 players on the same battlefield, rapid unscheduled disassemblies are happening all around you, it is glorious to see all that in action. This is a proper Warhammer40k game, unfortunately low player numbers keeps it from becoming great. I would recommend to any fan of Warhammer40k to try this game while it is still alive, who knows when they will pull the plug from it.
