La foto del año con su abuelo Rafael / Photo of the year with his grandfather Rafael
Mi abuela materna parió 11 hijos y mi abuela Elba, 9.
Once I was invited to think of a smell that took me back to childhood. I immediately felt the smell of coriander in the beans and the aroma of cake in the oven.
Thus I have many memories, but in particular, the image of my grandmother Cipriana feeding a little pigeon that fell from its nest and was wounded.
My maternal grandmother gave birth to 11 children and my grandmother Elba, 9. So it was very common to be surrounded by a lot of people in either house, especially at mealtime.
The tables were very long and with a lot of food, but my grandmothers' children did not give birth to so many children, so the table became smaller and smaller.
My mother, for example, gave birth to three. My sisters had two each and I had one. Of course! there are still a few of us and that's why sometimes we don't invite anyone to birthdays hahahahahaha just kidding.
The point is that even when the table is small, the smell of cilantro does not fade because the value of family has been sown in that action.
The smell of cake continues to transcend because now we are the ones making the cake.
And that ability to sacrifice your bite to feed your child could not have been better sown than the way my grandmother Cipriana did it when she fed a little bird in its beak.
At that time I didn't understand it, but since 15 years ago I do know what she meant when she said, “who doesn't love a baby bird, doesn't love a son”.
Happy birthday son!
