This is the piece of okro farm that was planted here so far. Having applied the pesticides, there has been massive improvement in their growth, we still did an a round check yesterday to see if there were any disease.
Flowering has been continuous so far and it is the flowering that has birthed some okro for us so far.
I'm not so sure if the spacing we have used for planting these okro was sufficient as everything has now grown to cover up every little space available. These were planted right after harvesting the dry season corn and they have been the only veggies so far in which we didn't mix planting them along side any other plant. Maybe this could be the reason for their massive growth progress and even without applying any fertilizers the okro seems to be doing well.
Next activities we did was to prepare the seed bed where we will be planting our rice grains.
This started with weeding of the grasses around the location we were going to use, breaking the ground and removing stones and debbri.
The pumping machine wasn't working properly as we desired to wet the ground before or after dispersing the grains.
Now is the best time to plant or nurse any rice plants we may desire to harvest early. Although planting will be continuous even till the month of August, we have people that are early planters while some plang theirs much later depending on the activities at hand and whatever types of rice grains one desires to grow.
Some rice grains takes about 5-6months, which is very much advisable to plant those ones early while some specie takes lesser time than that for them to grow.
