Happy weekend to us all, I hope that we are all having a good time and enough rest already. We are already at the venue for harvest already and I'm so surprised that this long pepper ripe and ready for harvest.
This particular specie of pepper was planted alongside our scotch bonnet pepper but I realized that our scotch peppers are only just producing seeds now that are not even close to harvest. Different Specie of pepper have their growth time and stages. I had expected that the scotch bonnet specie of pepper would be the first to grow and for harvest but this other longe specie of pepper seems to be doing better.
We are here to harvest out all the riped fresh pepper here. A lot can happen if these peppers are not harvested early. They get overippedd and rotten as soon as they are ripe and not harvested. Pepper harvest is not a one time activities, although all peppers are planted at thesame time even though they belong to thesame specie, not all of the peppers get ripped at thesame time.
Ripening is a continuous process and well as seed production. After a first prior harvest today, we would set out time to repeat the process either weekly or bi-weekly to ensure prompt harvest and pickup of the any pepper that becomes ripe so that they do not last in the farm for more than this duration of time.
I'm watching out to see how long this pepper would last and how many occasions of harvest we would have to engage in before this timing is over. This will be compared with our scotch bonnet pepper to see which one produce more pepper for us than the others.
Ever since we noticed the emerging scotch bonnet below like a week ago, the production rate hasn't been so high and harvest for scotch pepper cannot begin yet.
Flowering began for about a month ago yet the seed production rate us so poor that nothing is available or ripe for harvest yet.
