Happy weekend to all my fellow hivers and community members. Weekends starts by Friday for some whole for others since most jobs and offices closes earlier on Fridays to begin the weekend, I hope that we have had a successful week so far.
Yesterday I had so much fun when my friend stopped by to visit me after a long while. We talked gossiped and caught up with old times before she recommended that we talk a walk when she started feeling bored.
Taking a walk isn't a problem for me but knowing what to wear, all I had were several bunch of dresses and I carried a dress sense that totally puts off my dearest friend, she went through my wardrobe in search of what she wants me to wear before we stumbled on this blouse.
I have had the blouse for more than 3years now and have never worn it since it exposed the cleavages here
Been a fashion designer she got to work and decided to alter my top.
We got a pieces of old leggings that weren't useful anymore and a little net lace
Cut a piece of both and sewed than together.
I wanted to use the net alone but it was too transparent and would make no difference, this brought the need for extra covering which I cut out a pieces from an old leggings.
Next was the stitching, we had to be mindful so that the V neck of the blouse doesn't get slacked while sewing in the new piece
After attaching this, I safely secured it with a neat top stitching and my blouse came to life.
This might not be one of the most beautiful projects you will see around here but I learnt some good lessons from this.
I learnt a simple way I could transform outfits
The usefulness of fabric patches and how even old clothes can still be used in transforming other clothes. My very old leggings still had some parts that can be altered into other clothes to make them useful again.
If you have some old clothes rather than throw them away, you can consider an option of altering them into different designs, making them useful again.
Now I was able to wear the sexy look my friend desired before we stepped out for a long walk
I still have a few of my outfits that needs transformations like this and this idea came up at the right time. You can design to make use of it too. A tip to aid you in transforming old garments.
