We are gradually coming to the end of the year and though activities are begining to slow down in other walks of life, now is the season for sewing activities. Most festivities in Nigeria are usually shifted to the end of the year, marriages, introductions and Family reunion. Besides Christmas 馃巹 is around the corner and with the way time seem to be running fast with only a blink of an eye Christmas day will catch us unaware. Most tailors are seamstresses are usually engaged at this time sewing the outfits needed for all these festivities by their clients. And you can guess that by so doing they may have very little time to sew for themselves and/or their loved ones.
I am not sure of how busy I will get hence I wish to begin sewing the order of gift I will be passing on to the very important person's in my life starting with the eldest in my family.This particular gift is very needful. My elder sister is one of the kindest lovable and gentle person around the house.
Instead of how other sisters feel bossy over their younger siblings she has done everything within her capacity to keep us together after our mum's demise.
She became the mother of the house and has sacrificed so much to see us succeed. At a point she had to drop out of school and sacrificed her education for ours doing menial jobs to help her siblings go through school. Not having a solid educational foundation it has been difficult for her to get a good job and pursue a career like other women of her age. Having gotten married with three Kids now it becomes a challenge to provide for her family.
For all the sacrifice she has made for us I cherish her a whole lot and will do anything in my capacity to make her happy.
She tops my list of those that will be getting a new outfit in this festive season. I will be buying some fabrics and sewing new clothes for all the good people around me.
As much has my sis has lookout for me and has helped me through my career to this position in life I will love to reciprocate this kindness in everyway possible and also lookout for her kids to ensure that they grow up in the proper way just thesame way their mother has done for me.
Yesterday they paid me a visit in my house and while I had wanted to start working on the project, I couldn't do any further work in their presence since I wanted this to be a surprise for her.
Much of what I was able to do was to cut the fabric, while I have dropped by the accessories store already to pick up some linings and other material.
I got a lovely 馃尮 flower pattern material 馃尯 and didn't want to ruin it cutting the fabric in different ways hence I made a circle skirt where I will have flower patterns displayed across her dress when she wears her clothes.
