My soul spun out…
out into the starry night,
upon a casual manipulation…
the subterfuge of their disdain.
They weave despair…
dismay into my mind
with dismissal in their eyes.
But, then, you turn…
turnabout the tide…
with your ebony eyes
of rushing solar winds…
and bathe my heart.
You fill my soul
with your smile.
Original poem © 20 July 2019, by D. Denise Dianaty. In Photoshop, I created this art-portrait of my husband specifically to accompany this poem, using a photograph taken by me in 2010, with my old Canon on 35mm film. I cut him out of the image and pasted him into a new layer. On the original image layer, I enhanced the clouds in the background; added a solar winds effect, and a strong lens flare. On the cut out layer, I added a gentler lens flare.
