Its Future looks very bright.
It was the beginning of computer journey. The First commercial computer that was developed in 1947 by Mauchly and Eckert at Census Department of USA.1st Gen.Its Name was UNIVAC. Computers were used in 1942 to 1955.Their Working principle was Vacuum Tubes. It can Calculate Data in Milliseconds.
There were Very Disadvantages of this Gen. These were very large. Very Power Hungry. Air Conditioner was required to keep cool.Speed Was Very Low.These Computers could Understand only Machine Languages.Although It was Very limited in its use.
The Era Of Second Generation computers Starts from 1955 to 1964.Transistor Has Been Developed Since 1947. It was a Good alternate Of Vacuum tubes.Transistors Make the computers much smaller, cheaper, less power hungry.fast, efficient, accurate and could be used on the wider commercial scale.
But There Was still many disadvantages.An Air conditioner was still required, production was very difficult, very specific uses, and continuous maintenance was required.Not Very Fast too But was batter Than 1st Generation.
At This Time Integrated Circuits has been Developed. The Era of these Computers Began in 1964 and ended in1975.ICs was Developed by Jack Kilby in 1961. It was revolutionary invention it the field of electronics that helped us in reaching this stage.1 IC chip may contain 1000s of transistors in it.The average size of an IC was 1/4 square inches.These computers were much smaller Than Previous Generations.And Much faster, low cost, more efficient, less expensive and more accurate.
There Were Drawbacks too. The Air condition was still required of efficient working and The second hurdle was that very high sophisticated technology was required for the production of IC chips.
The Fourth Genratution Computers started With the Microprocessors.A Microprocessor may contain Millions of ICs in it.Tedd Hoff Invented The 1st Microprocessor In 1971.Its name was Intel 4004.Fourth Generation Era Began from 1975 and still continue. After the Invention Of 1st Microprocessor, this technology developed very rapidly.This Was Time when Today,s top technology companies came into beings.This technology reduced the size of computer and power consumption. These computers were very fast. And Very accurate. It could be produced on very large scale. Just a fan was required to cool it down.It can understand high-level languages.
But Disadvantages was Still there the biggest disadvantage was that latest technology was required to produce.
Fifth Generation computers are very advance. These are based on Artificial Intelligence.These are very Powerfull compters. These computers can do many things on its own. AI can understand spoken words.Can Do automatic works.Today we using AI to some extent but in future, it will be Every were. This technology is still under development.
It has many advantages AI works on small electronics. We need less man pawer. It Will Save our time. The Biggest threat it that it can be a danger for humanity.
