I don't think I edited it beyond cropping
The two of us
Snarled in
the sentiments
Sticky
Instantly pulled
Drawn inward
In the center
we meet
United in our struggle
Contracting ventricles
Prematurely
A world of venom
Matched against
The oceanic antidote
Between us
Prey no longer
We transform
Taking our dominion
Lying in wait
Subduing trouble
In sentiments of silk
Trapped in our timelessness
We are eon bonded
Unbounded by gravity
Suspended
Falling
Strengthened like steel
Forged in a kiss
Impervious
Ruling over our
Captured dreams
This poem is a rewrite of an old poem I wrote a while ago. I challenged myself to rewrite a rhyming poem as a non-rhyming poem. It's a fun little experiment. I have to do it the other way one of these days. Anyway, here is the original. Feel free to let me know what you think about each one.
