RE: The Critical Role of Digital Preservation in Gaming History
I know. Sad to think about, but such is the way of life, I suppose.

I absolutely hate that Frank Cifaldi lost that case that would have permitted libraries and other not-for-profit institutions to break copyright law in order to allow patrons access to materials. It's

Thank you for reading it! I spent about three weeks working on and off to get my thoughts down, and I'm floored at the response it's getting from the community here.

RE: The Critical Role of Digital Preservation in Gaming History
One of the reasons I never sold my old consoles was because I had the notion I might want to play them again when I got older. There's something tactile and personal about plugging in a controller, slapping

RE: What Should Be Buried With You?
One of my favorite toys as a child was a Happy Apple. Nine years ago, when my blockchain blogging journey began, I wrote a short post about it. Given that, I think it would be appropriate to be buried

RE: A.I. Slop and My Thoughts
I didn't spend years practicing writing to get (slightly) better at it just so I could point at a computer and say, "Here, write this for me." I may not write the best stuff in the world, but

RE: Warhammer 40,000 Universe vs. Everybody Else: Why 40k (Almost) Always Wins
Yeah, I love that nobody has any clue how many Imperial Guard there are at any given time. Like, they just stopped keeping track because of how many millions of them die every single hour. Makes you wonder

RE: Warhammer 40,000 Universe vs. Everybody Else: Why 40k (Almost) Always Wins
If you actively play Warhammer 40K and are not independently wealthy, you can have no other hobbies besides 40K. You will simply lack either the cash, or the space, or both, for anything else. Which is

I'm definitely a Johnny when it comes to my MtG play style. One of my favorite creatures from back in the day was the D'Avenant Archers, a 1/2 White creature which you could tap to do one point of damage

Back in the day, White Wolf studios had a sister company, called "Black Dog", which produced more mature-themed content. I've wondered before if this was WotC testing the waters to see if maybe

Oh yeah, if you have an imagination, it's easy to come up with some twisted scenarios. Heck, if you love horror films, there's plenty of fodder to mine there. One of my favorite adventures of all time

RE: Michael's Retro Stash: Great Xbox/360 Games to Acquire If You Have an Xbox One or Series S/X
Dude, if you at all enjoy stealh-based games like Tenchu or Metal Gear Solid, that first Splinter Cell is a knockout. I'm not even a big fan of stealth games, and I love them, so that's saying something.

I was a PlayStation guy starting in 1997, popped over to the PS2 in 2000, and kept on with the PS3 in 2006. I slept on the Xbox for a long time. I didn't get an original Xbox until 2014, and didn't pick

At least we still have the ability to play the Classic editions of those two games. GOG has them for PC gamers, and I think there were some remastered editions released for more modern consoles as well.

Splinter Cell was always developed with the original Xbox in mind, and every other version was ported from there, so it doesn't surprise me we never saw a portable version of those older titles, since

Thank you so much, @paultactico2! It blew my mind once I started looking into just what all the backwards compatibility on the Xbone/Series consoles allowed and saw how it was preserving some of the DLC

Because of the voice clips used in the soundtrack and the different characters, viewing the auto-generated transcript for this video is hilarious. :) This is an incredible patch job. Restoring a level
