For a few months now, the church I attend occasionally sent out invitations for their annual festival/celebration. I initially didn't want to attend because I don't like being in crowded places, but this celebration was always a crowded one which I always avoided with the excuse that my husband wasn't around.
But then I had to go because I was specially invited, but I regretted it right away. On my way to the event I encountered a terrible traffic that lasted for hours and I was stuck in it for an hour.it was really frustrating because I had initially didn't want to go, only to decide and to become stuck in traffic.
We finally got to the church and ceremony was in full swing, I was ushered to a seat not far from where the door was, few minutes into the program I remembered I had dropped my phone at home and there was no way to take pictures of the celebration.
And because of this my mood changed and I was just in a bad mood, soon some women/ladies started sharing food, at least I would get to eat something good before going home, I had a big plan for the food.
After minutes, I saw a woman walking towards me with a tray of food, I was soup and swallow and just as she got near my side, she almost fell because she slipped and that was how the whole food she was carrying poured all over me, Like it was not just funny because I saw red at this moment, the woman apologised over and over again, even her apology made me the more embarrassed, I told her I was fine and she walked away, soon other people kept coming to apologize on her behalf and I good them it was fine, there was nothing I could do to my outfit as it was already ruined and for some reason I sat glued to the chair, I guess it was shame, now this was supposed to be the moment I would have taken my phone and be pressing, but had forgotten it today of all days.
But one thing happened, since I had been sitting, they had been serving people around me and not me, but after the incident, different kinds of food were just coming my way, like rice, swallow, and porridge, some were served in take away while some were in plates, all this were a form of apology, the woman who had spilled the soup on me kept on coming asking if I needed anything else, well even though I was stained like badly, I still enjoyed the privilege of eating every kind of food offered at the church ceremony.
I had in mind to stay for a few hours but I ended up staying till the end, and I had a lot to take home, which I was happy for lolz, but one thing I made a mistake about was the traffic I would face again at the time I left, cause the roads were so crowded with people from the church ceremony, a very big mistake, though I got home late at night but I was still happy for the goodies with me. Lolz.
