TeamPH has been hard at work with growing our curation account so that we can help our community members grow together within the Hive ecosystem. This is one of our key initiatives and we are always actively looking for ways to make it even better.

We do a lot of posts about Splinterlands as well as personal content and it's important that we come together as a community to help make sure we consistently release high quality posts.

Curation Trail

A curation trail is one of the most helpful things we can do as a community. Growing our curation account means that we will be able to pool our resources together. Essentially, when we follow a curation trail, that means we follow what they upvote on. So when TeamPH upvotes quality content, by following the curation trail, you are able to upvote automatically by tagging along what TeamPH does.

Please note that we take our curation very seriously so TeamPH will only upvote quality content. If it's not up to the standard that we want it to be, we'll be commenting by giving pointers for improvement so that the potential to be upvoted is there next time. Also, nothing is guaranteed for upvotes so we always need to be consistent in posting high quality content.

There are a few key things to take note of here:

• We trust that TeamPH will abide by the standards that are set to only consider high quality content.
• We stand together as a community to help support one another and benefit everyone.
• We generate a positive feedback cycle to generate rewards for the curation account as well as the members backing it.

How to Join the TeamPH Curation Trail

Now that we understand what a curation trail is and what it does, how do we exactly join one?

Let's list out the details below.

• First, we need to go to hive.vote to register and set things up. You will see the below image when first getting into the site. There is available info so make sure to read up. Afterwards, click on register if you haven't yet. If you have registered previously, you can login instead.

• For those registering, you'll be seeing the hive signer page like the one below. You can opt to just use your username and private key combo or you can also opt to create a separate password for extra protection.

• Once registered, you'll be logged in and you'll see the page below. You'll first need to allow the Hivesigner to add posting authority for @steemauto. You can do it by clicking on the encircled portion in the image and approving.

• Afterwards, you can click on the Curation Trail button and you will be moved to this page below.

• In the search bar, type in team-philippines and click search. It'll then redirect you to this page and you can click Follow.

• There will be some extra settings we want to add as well. The default value of the encircled below is 50, we'll want to change that to 100. This is just my recommendation but doing so will mean that you can vote based on the same percentage of the curation trail. For example, if TeamPH votes at 60%, you'll be doing the same. If you leave it at 50, that means you'll be voting for half of whatever TeamPH is voting on which in this example would be 30%. Click save afterwards to save the changes.

• To double check that everything is working as intended, click on the Curation Trail navigation and you should see something like the image below. After that, you should be all set!

Hive.vote extra settings

Now that we've done the curation trail setup, we just need to do a couple last steps to make sure we don't accidentally upvote our own content. Since we want to post high quality content regularly (Once a day max), the TeamPH curation trail will evaluate and upvote your posts and we just need to avoid upvoting ourselves. To do that, navigate to Home in the navigation bar and scroll down. In the image below, you'll see the selfvote portion. Change True to False and approve. This will ensure that we don't upvote our own content.

Lastly, I want to touch briefly about upvote mana. Every time we vote, our voting mana reduces. It replenishes automatically same as how RC replenishes. Ideally, we want to keep it as high as possible so my suggestion here is to keep the mana threshold to around 85 to 90%. This way, you are as close as possible to max value in terms of your voting power. You can change the value below highlighted in yellow.

Coming together as a community will make us a powerhouse in the Hive ecosystem which will, in turn, help our community members as well. Community oriented goals are what we stand for and embodies our ethos well.
