This has been something I've been planning since I started Steemit but never felt like there was much point, especially with so few followers. Though it's still clear there's comparatively little interest in music on Steemit other than live guitar-vocal performances), I felt it could be fun to combine my passions - Science, Music and Education - for a new series.
Now that I have my new laptop, i've had to move all my software from one hard drive to two others, and then the massive, multi-terabyte installation process begins (65gb for a single set of instruments for example). In the above (or below?) video, I've only installed one of the string samples, but I decided to have a little play around for your aural pleasure (giggle), just starting with random notes and stretching them out. You can safely assume something of higher quality will come from these future posts!
So, the keen eye may notice that the title of this post implies a plural, and you'd be right. Here's some ideas I have, which I will officially be working on from tomorrow, but I'd like some input by others as to what you would actually enjoy:
The science of music (answering questions about the very nature of music and the most recent research into it)
Tutorials (Studio production as in the video, but I'm also open to music theory, guitar or whatever)
Dlive, livestreeming the creation of music, perhaps taking requests from people as I go.
Dtube, Taking requests in advance by followers of the style or description of music, and I come back with whatever I can conjure up in response
Art combined with Music, in which I make music to another users' artwork, be it painting, drawing, or whatever.
For that last one, already gave me a picture as below, but it became such a big thing (it's hard to make such a clearly random picture sound sensible in 1 or 2 minutes) that I can't touch it until I have a full orchestra installed on here.
So yes, hopefully this series can get some kind of attention outside of my usual science buddies and loyal followers, since it really does tune into everything I care about in the world, but I also hope you current followers can find something to appreciate too!
So lemme know what you'd like, any requests or whatever below or in DM on steemit.chat, discord etc! Goodnight from me!
