At a Mcdonalds store in Eden Prairie, Minnesota a couple of black muslim teenagers got into a scuffle with white man who said very racist remarks about them, upon hearing them they got into an argument with and then proceeded to fight back verbally. One teenager who was about to leave was pushed by the white man and he pulled out a gun on them. The Mcdonald’s manager however didn’t protect the safety of kids she instead told them leave the store where the man with the gun was outside.
What would you do in this situation?
I would first of all lock the doors and keep the kids inside, then I would call the police. The manager I presume was under the impression that the man pulling the gun out was bluffing. But I don’t give a fuck what she thought or what not, pulling a gun out in any situation doesn’t diffuse it the situation escalates into something bigger and before we know it someone is dead.
Anyone pulling out a gun on anyone should be an immediate call to the police, except if you are black because then whatever your involvement in the scene you’d be shot no questions asked.
But getting back to the topic at hand, the kids should be kept safe in somewhere at the back and wait for the police to arrive, then after that we should let the professionals handle the situation. In this case it seems that the man was arrested and subsequently in jail right now.
The Manager should be fired!
In this situation kids are in danger first and foremost, because the intent of the gunman when he pulled out the gun was too shoot them, regardless of whether or not it was a bluff and also we can only say it was a bluff because he didn’t shoot the gun at the end of the outcome, but if he did then it’d be another story altogether.
The manager that was shouting was putting the kids in danger, by telling them to go out. I don’t know what the kids did to make her react like that, however that is not something you do kids in the face of danger. The kids may have been annoying or rowdy, however the manager wasn’t right in the place of telling them to get out.
If the kids were in the wrong and they were being disruptive and causing other customers problems than it was right in sending them out. But they weren’t and the man who I think is in his 50s, who should know better is clearly a threat to them. It’s abhorrently negligent of her to do so and frankly she should be ashamed of herself.
There is this wave of racial, political intolerance sweeping around the world and it’s reaching far and wide. People are getting angry over things which are different and not going according to their plan. At first diversity was a thing to be proud of, but now the increase of hate from the right and neglect of the left has made people very angry and upset at how the world or their country is being run.
