The Calgary Union Cemetery is among the city's oldest. It encompasses a hill that overlooks the Stampede ground and downtown. There is a beautiful memorial to Commonwealth soldiers who served in both the 1st and 2nd World Wars. The tombstones lined neatly in rows that stretched further than the eye could see. These fallen soldiers all made the sacrifice not just for Canada but for the free world to be free.
