Sometimes it's hard to get close to a goose. They can be a bit moody and will start to hiss. I used to think this only happened when they were protecting their young, but I have also seen an adult pair in a parking lot that didn't seem to want anyone to get within 20 feet of them. Luckily this goose was in a good mood; it had walked close to me as if to let me know they were friendly. So I was able to get a nice close-up of its head before it decided to move along.
