Flowers are a good place to look for the various small creatures of the earth. It seems like they are an important hangout spot. Perhaps for nectar or pollen, or maybe even just to hide and lie in wait to surprise potential prey or to protect from a predator. I am sure the existence of both has a codependency that plays out in various ways.
