Hello steemians, hope everyone is optimistic about 2018 being a nice year to all. Well, this write up is something that would enable your 2018 to be pleasant in all aspects.
The word apology just flashed in my head and I felt like writing something on it, plus I know it won't be a bad idea and it would help amend so many broken lives, relationships, families etc.
Well if you must know, the word "apology" comes from the Greek word "apologia" meaning ''speaking in one's defence''.
Although, it used to mean that but over time, at the end of the 16th century, the word apology meant something else which is "a written or spoken expression of one's regret, remorse or sorrow for having insulted, failed, injured or wronged another "more like using the words (I'm sorry)....
Many a times we find ourselves trapped in things we can't escape from, things we have no control over, thinking that there's no way out but not knowing that there actually is one way out. There are cases and situations where the words "I'm sorry " have done more good than harm.
True, many people find it difficult to say, maybe due to ego (pride) but do you know that the words actually will go a long way in resolving issues? Many persons who have been truly hurt by people, friends, family or even people they specially care about, have sometimes forgiven those who hurt them, because they just wanted them to be remorseful and say the words "I'm sorry ".
We hurt people yes, and people in turn do same but even at that, realising that we've hurt them and apologizing is what counts and actually makes things easier. Sometimes, you just find out that out of the blue, some persons act funny I. e they become distant or they don't see you as they use to before. Well, walking up to the person and straightening things out, more like finding out what went wrong and apologising for it wouldn't take anything from you.
It's just you doing the right thing and, if after that (apologizing), the person still acts the same way, you on the other end, know you've done your part and even the Bible can attest to that.
Saying those words especially to someone you've hurt even though it's a bit difficult won't kill you rather it will amend unsettled differences and every body will be back to their feet.
Do not allow pride jeopardise your hope for a better tomorrow, you never can tell if those persons might end up being the ladder that can lead you up to greatness.
Bottom line is, an apology means nothing if you keep doing what you're sorry for, but know this, it's never too late to apologize or say "I'm sorry" even though you may not get what you wanted back but always remember that an apology is a good way to have the last word.
