A few days ago I saw an uproar in social networks about what happened with the Dalai Lama, in a whatsapp group made up of moms, the participants expressed themselves with much indignation about what happened with the child, there was much emotional movement and by the description they made and their words I did not have the stomach to watch the video they shared in the chat and not even look for the news on other networks, because what had been shared had been enough for me.
I confess that I try to practice daily the habit of not making judgments and not being affected by those things that escape my sphere of control, but in cases like these it is quite difficult to stay in that position, as a caring and loving mother of my children, children are sacred to me and these issues definitely take me out of my mind.
However, I am not here to tell you about the event as such, but about the reflection that followed. As I told you, I try to keep myself in the mind of "non-judgment" and when something takes me out of it, beyond all the movement it brings me, it is nothing else but a sign of something I must heal, understand, process, accept... LEARN...
So, when I saw myself in this process of judging another, I made a stop in my mind and asked myself:
What is really the message behind all this?
I believe that in this vast universe there is nothing random, it seems that all the events we live are moved by invisible threads that are spun and connected to generate a certain type of experience that we need as humanity to learn and evolve in consciousness.
With this idea in mind, I remembered the premises contained in the philosophy of A Course in Miracles (UCDM) regarding idols, which speaks of the importance of recognizing where we are depositing our power or value, and learning to give our power to that which is imperishable, eternal... and not what can fall or perish, everything that is external to you.
When we do not recognize our nature as a Being of Light and the power we have simply by existing, we begin to look outside for what we believe we need, we deposit in others or in some situation or value, such as a partner, money, a house, a job, time, religion, an artist, therapist, etc. etc. etc. our happiness, harmony, wellbeing, fulfillment.
Then we believe that I am happy if I have a partner, I look for peace in temples, in churches, I think I am prosperous only when I consider that I have a lot of money, and so on... material values that can perish and with them our sense of love, happiness, freedom, prosperity and so on.
In this case, I felt a little disappointed because I followed very closely the teachings of the Dalai Lama and finding this was a shock for me to collapse that figure from the pedestal on which I had it, when I realized that, I said to myself: "wow, he was an idol for me and he collapsed with an issue that was inevitable to affect me".
And after realizing this I began to do the exercise of recognizing what is eternal or imperishable from what is not, in this example I have been talking about, the eternal and imperishable is the message, the love, the teachings that lead you to be a better person. Now the interlocutor, the messenger, would not be within that category of eternal, because in the end he is nothing more than a man, a human being of flesh and blood prone to make wrong choices, a being with light and shadow under the same learning in which we all are, no more and no less... and there is where I could see him as an idol.
I wonder if sometimes we pay more attention to the speaker than to the message, it is possible that this is why the message of light and love of many prophets and characters in history who incarnated some divinity has not fully penetrated. As humanity I believe that in a certain way we have been incredulous because we have placed our faith in the messenger, and when the messenger is no longer there or falls down or falls from the pedestal, with him goes the message and everything we believed in and we end up losing our faith.
Religion is one of the greatest idols that exists in the history of humanity, I understand that it has been a channel that has led us in a certain way to spirituality, but today I believe that these structures are not in accordance with our level of evolution and the consciousness of unity, because I feel that beyond uniting us, what they have done is to segment and divide us.
I felt with all this reflection that it was a propitious opportunity to open a reflection and ask ourselves:
Where do we place our Faith?
Would you stop believing in the message of unity, light, love and forgiveness after suffering a disappointment like this?
I believe that this situation with the Dalai Lama invites us more than ever to place our Faith in our essence, in the Source and the loving energy present in all existence, to realize that we no longer need idols to reach that Creator Father, that the state of enlightenment is nothing more than reaching that state of peace and fulfillment here on earth, and that when we congruently practice the law of love we can transcend these issues of separation that keep us away from the message of the eternal.
