This morning I drove by the local market we have in the town. It is placed on one big parking plot, so on Fridays, it is not possible to park there. I had to go further, find another parking site, and return on foot to my dentist. But it's fine, I can't be mad at my tooth, it doesn't know which day is the best to break in half. I was lucky enough to get the answer from my dentist that I could come asap after I left her my petition to come immediately. Not much luck with the tooth, though. I guess I will have to change my habits and leave out the crunchy cereal that I usually have for breakfast.
Anyway, driving by that place and seeing the local market reminded me of the day... it's Friday! :)) Time for a Market Friday topic, an initiative started by @dswigle 馃尲
In that broken tooth and dentist situation I was not in the mood to stroll around... but maybe some better and happier things will come from the street market that I have seen in M谩laga. It was last month, the beginning of January when we stopped there. In my post about a walk in that town, I already wrote what was happening to me, so this stop was necessary to bring me back to life. Just next to the park where we were walking and breathing some fresh air, the stalls of this street market were bringing some fun.
Not just fun and nice things that were offered by the sellers, but funny situations. We are in winter, and although the winters on the Mediterranean coast are not very cold, going in short sleeves and shorts is left for those brave people. And those same people stopped at the stall with warm, winter clothes. Maybe they wanted to buy a hat, scarf or gloves to be prepared for the cold days in advance. I remember that I had a jacket but it was too much to have it. In the end, I took it off and carried it in my arms. I didn't really like carrying an additional thing as I also had a map in my hand, but I was feeling already dizzy with my strong migraine.
If we are talking about clothes... Lately, I see more and more of these cheerful and so colourful skirts, shirts and dresses. This is the same stall as the previous photo, but I went closer to take a look at those skirts and one coat. I am always tempted to buy something but there is one problem, I think I could not choose easily. I would spend a lot of time there, but we continued as we also had to find a place where to eat.
The same as with clothes happens with hats. I noticed those nice hats that were displayed at one stall. I simply would not be able to pick one. I see having the black one matching an elegant outfit, the red for a cheerful occasion and the grey hat for a more casual style. In the end, I would not wear them... they would just sleep in my wardrobe.
Leaving the clothes and hats behind, books came. My son spent some time browsing between the written treasures. We have shown him from an early age how important is to read, expand his knowledge and vocabulary, and have the ability to express himself nicely through words. Then the teenage days came and other things became more important to him, but I noticed that he reads a lot again. Maybe "a lot" is too much to say as I think we used to read more when we were young... but we didn't have phones and other gadgets to take that time from us. We had music, books and people to hang out together. (now I sound like an old lady who has nostalgia hahaha, but it wasn't my intention)
Before we headed toward the city centre, the Cathedral and the restaurant that served us lunch we saw a bunch of other decorative items, hanging bells, clocks, lamps, and X-mas decorations (it was still Christmas and New Year time). Now just a memory that maybe will fade away with time and come back before the next Christmas vibe knocks on our doors.
