It was the second day of our journey... The skies of Malaga were blue and the whole park was full of happy and loud parakeets. Cheerful parakeets, but not so delighted moments for me, as I was still feeling sick. Much worse than the first day actually, as the migraine thing knocked me out. Just moments before we arrived at this parakeet's heaven I was lying in the back seat of our car while trying to fight nausea and pain. My boys were driving and finding the route from Almería (where we spent the afternoon of the day before and the night) to the next destination - Málaga.
However, in these situations where you really want something, you make it happen. When we parked in the underground parking lot, just under the park of Málaga, I gathered the strength to make a short walk. We got a map from the Tourist Info point and started to discover the park and the surrounding area. The fresh air made me feel better and the whole feeling of being in Málaga gave me an additional boost.
There were a lot of different types of trees and plants in the park. The small info boards were telling us more about them. I scanned a few of them, some strange names that I forgot in the same instant.
And not just plants and trees were living in that park. Yes, as you guessed, statues were also spending their life in the park, mostly pouring water from jugs...
Well, others were playing musical instruments and reciting poetry. Maybe it is a better and more interesting destiny of a park statue!
Still, the real music that we were hearing from the treetops was the parakeets' concert that I mentioned at the beginning of the post. It was in Granada where we saw so many of them in a park, and in Valencia too but there were much more parakeets living freely in the Málaga park. Some of them were flying just right in front of my nose.
Without any doubt, they like the mild climate and the palm trees to make their living space. We, humans, are just the visitors and the guests in their house.
From this same park, we could see a castle up on the hill. Unable to walk up there I just ignored it and walked away.
If not castles, then I can find city halls :D It is situated just by the park.
The Banco de España (Spanish Bank) is next to the City Hall. A simple building without a specifically decorated facade... for me, just the columns were interesting.
The third building in the same row is the University of Málaga. It has more charm, with that circular tower. The horse with the carriage made it accidentally to the photo 😂
The short walk was really enjoyable and pleasant, but to finish this visit we found an Italian restaurant in the city centre and had lunch. It was not far away from the Cathedral but when we finished eating the sky changed its appearance. One photo of the Cathedral before taking a seat in the restaurant...

Unfortunately, these huge buildings, in the city centres are so difficult to squeeze into a photo. We will always get a photo with a cut-off tower 😂
It doesn't matter, the smaller buildings can be highlighted better then... Oh, that is possible in the case that the tent of a terrasse is not placed there, between you and the object you want to shoot.
Málaga got just this short visit, a walk in the park and surroundings, in the city centre and lunch. We couldn't wait the evening and the lights that are probably beautiful like in the other cities we saw, but while we were driving through one street I noticed a nice hanging decoration. A photo from a car can never be a good one though...
