The week before Easter offered so many different events in our little town. Some days there were even several events held, though in different places. So it happened that while in the park we could visit a festival dedicated to dogs and think about the possibility of their adoption, a mini-concert performed by a two-member group and a classical music concert in the church, on the parking plot close to the seashore food trucks were installed. Well, not just food trucks, but also stands with some artisan products. I don't know how, but I managed to visit all of them :)
Of course, I am not someone having supernatural powers so to do all of it at the same time. The concert in the church was scheduled for late afternoon, so I had time to go there in tranquillity. The other events were held almost at the same time, though. The good thing is that the park and the parking plot are very close one to another, so it was easy to visit both of them. Just in a few minutes, I could switch from the park to the parking plot where this small market was installed.
What was not that good is that I already had my lunch before I arrived at this Food Trucks event. I was not hungry and nothing really made me crave any of the offered food there. Maybe they were not bad, but it was just me who skipped the pleasure to have a few additional bits there.
The majority of the food trucks offered burgers or hot dogs, and that was not something I would like to have just right after having the main meal at home. Maybe I could opt for some ice cream or sweets...
...or Mexican food... Maybe that is something I could taste, as they had different types of Tacos, Quesadillas and Burritos. From tacos, they had two varieties, Chilangos and Texas Veggie. Quesadilla had three versions, Pure Cheese (mix of cheeses), Complete (cheese and chicken) and Veggie (cheese and chilli beans). Burrito was offered in two types, one that was a wrap of chicken and fresh veggies with Mexican sauce, and the Veggie Option, with chilli beans and soy.
My niece likes to prepare burritos, she is doing it very well and with a lot of vegetables. It was last summer when I consumed it for the last time. Now I regret a little not buying burritos in that food truck... but then I was not hungry indeed.
The part with sweet things was not so tempting for me either. Basic pancakes and the other truck was selling roll ice cream. Neither the coffee nor tea was something I wanted to take. So, there finished my food adventure, however, I was more interested in the artisan stands.
Artisan scents would be the translation to English of Aromas Artesanales. Those are small waxen fragrant cubes, packed in transparent mesh bags. A few years ago we bought several of those with my mom. I would have to ask her do they still have the scent or if it faded away.
The next stand was something that I have never seen until that day. In small glass jars, with lids, plants were potted. Some of the lids were from glass, others were wooden and even a few glass jars with a metal cover. I was not so close to hearing the explanation why they had the covers. Why would a plant need it? Perhaps to make a greenhouse effect? And the soil was not real soil, it was something in several layers. Strange enough all that stand. But, maybe someone from the readers of this post knows what is this about... Have you ever seen plants in this kind of glass jar, with lids?
I especially liked the stand with the dreamcatchers. Seems that they have been made from sheets of cork and crochet. A variety of them, in different colours, but those white ones were so sweet. Also, the messages were nice:
Dream
Love
Live
Enjoy
Smile
Live the Life
The next stand, wooden accessories... Absolutely adorable things: bow ties made of wood! Have you ever seen that? I have to confess, it is also a first for me. How cute are those with the cats and for sure, with a treble clef and music notes :)
Speaking about music... Well, I missed the performance of the acoustic duet called Código bidi. The duet consist of a guitarist and a singer lady, but I came late, they were just enjoying their rest. Later in the afternoon, there were other bands and in the evening a DJ, but my paths already led me to other places.
This post as a mixture of food trucks and an artisan market would fit where...? Well, I hope that it can find a place in the Market Friday community, for the event hosted by @dswigle. I have never participated, so I don't know have I done well in this post? Ok, I checked the rules. So, how easy (or not) is it to go to the market, or any other place where we pay money for a service. Ok, I think it was ok. The next rule says that we can take pictures and tell a bit about the event, how we got there, what did we buy and similar. We should use this community to publish the post and drop a link in the Market Friday comment section. Well, I suppose it means in the comment section of today's post of Denise? :))
Anyway, let us all have a nice Friday and enjoy the upcoming weekend, as you never know, maybe a new street food trucks event will be set somewhere? ... but then, I should go without having my regular lunch before it!
